Before unpacking your CryoDry CD8, make sure you've prepared a suitable location.

Your freeze dryer should be installed:

• On a strong, level bench capable of supporting the machine
• With at least 200 mm of clearance around all sides for airflow
• In a well-ventilated room below 25°C
• Close to a suitable power outlet
• Away from flammable materials and direct heat sources
  

Following these simple steps helps ensure reliable performance from day one.

Use this checklist before your first batch.

1. Level the machine using the adjustable feet
2. Position your vacuum pump beside or beneath the unit
3. Connect the vacuum hose securely
4. Connect the pump power cable
5. Plug the CD8 into a suitable power outlet
6. Install the drain valve
7. Turn on your machine and you're ready to begin

You may also wish to:

• Attach a drain hose for easier defrosting
• Connect an exhaust hose to your vacuum pump if required

Keeping your CryoDry clean will help maximise performance and extend its lifespan.

After Every Batch

• Defrost the ice condenser
• Wash and dry trays
• Wipe out the chamber
• Check the door seal is clean
• Empty any collected water
  

Weekly

• Wipe external surfaces
• Clean ventilation openings
• Check vacuum hose connections
  

Oil Pump Models

If your machine uses an oil vacuum pump:

• Check oil condition approximately every 100 operating hours
• Replace oil if dirty or low
• Filter oil regularly to extend pump life
  

Oil-free scroll pumps require significantly less routine maintenance.
