The freeze dryer unit doesnt require any real maintenance. Wipe the outside with a soft cloth and periodically clean the inside of the drum unit with hot soapy water to remove any food residue.
- The premier vacuum pump comes with a supply of oil. The 3 cups of oil need to be changed regularly usually after running about 20 to 30 batches of food. This is a simple process that takes a few minutes. The oil can be filtered and reused with the oil filter jug that comes with your machine. The oil filter cartridge can be reused to filter the oil about 20 times. The pump has a gas ballast feature that makes it so water does not stay in the oil.
- The oil free pump does not require oil changes or maintenance. It has scroll seals that can wear over time and be replaced when needed.
- Batch Processing times are the same whether you have the premier oil pump or the oil free pump.
